Aspects of the City
Square Route Walks offers a variety of guided walks and tours of the City of London, our "Square Mile". All our guides will have passed the rigorous City University Guiding Course.
Walks will be of a "general interest" nature and may be tailored to individual or group requests.
Our clients will receive a comprehensive insight into the rich and colourful history of the City of London and its international role, throughout the ages, up to and including the present time.

A General History from AD37 to Modern times
This walk encompasses many aspects of the rich history of the City from the first Roman camp on the Walbrook river through Christianity, 'the Dark Ages', Magna Carta, Early Mayoralty, Rebellions, Dissolution, Martyrdom, Inter-Regnum, Restoration, Shakespeare, Great Fire, Wren's Churches, Charles Dickens, Jack the Ripper, Early Immigration, Industrial Revolution, Empire, War, Blitz, Terrorism and the City's Financial Strength on today's World Markets
Roman City of London
They came, they saw, they conquered! They also established a City that was to rise to be one of the greatest in the World. This walk explains how that happened and how we still have evidence of Rome in the City today.
Mediaeval City of London
The City is growing in size and power...so are the problems for the Monarchy... scandal and sedition.
